When I was working with staged , directorial images in the late 1980's the construction of my pictures became technically cumbersome and my output slowed considerably due to the logistics of organizing sets, models and assistants for the photographs. Making constructed images became a lot more practical for me when I began to build images with the help of a computer in 1992.
The images are usually large and are linked to projects made for an exhibition context. The largest I have made is about 12 feet long and it has never been exhibited, largely due to the great difficulty of handling such a large piece of fragile paper.
