The left image is at 651 Somerset on the east wall of the Shanghai restaurant. This place is very supportive of artists and is very popular with young people and students. The right image is a wonderful dragon on the east wall of 882 somerset.
Graffiti is an vital form of urban expression that gives walls life. It is democratic in that everyone can do it and it informs us of those who have the most urgent messages. This city's obsession with "combating" graffiti and tags is pathological in my opinion. Let the walls speak. Let authentic youthful rebellion enrich our stale and sanitized lives. Bar undemocratic commercial postings and let individuals spray colour.
