602 Somerset Street - entrance and fence

Chuck Brown's Golf World is at 610 Somerset Street

Partly in desperation, I have made this photograph at night in order to make the picture a little more interesting visually. This building appears in several other shots as context but it is rather unremarkable and is awkwardly located for photography and it is also on the south side of the street which is often in shade.
Several of the other buildings in this block on the same side of the street seem of similar age which suggests that there may have been some fire/clearance at some juncture in the past.
399 Somerset Street West

This banal store front is part of a number addresses at the bottom of a high rise building which can be seen here and here. The owner approached me to ask why I was taking a picture of his business and I told him " because I am photographing all of the buildings on the street . . . " he seemed to be satisfied with this answer and I continued on my way west. - no problem.

This is a large and distinctive building with many repair bays.

At the west end of the bridge over the O-train tracks on the south side is the New 168 market. This store has enjoyed great success which I believe is largely due to the parking lot which makes it more convenient for drivers than the Kowloon Market. The Kowloon Market is about a kilometer east on one of the most congested blocks for traffic .
Smokers in front of 1010 Somerset Street

This is a federal government building for the department of Supply and Services. The legislation that came into effect on Monday of this week will even prohibit people smoking outside the entrance to this building too.
706 Somerset Street

Also called the "Humphrey Block" in steel letters on the brickwork on the top west end which I suppose commemorates the developer or one of the developer's loved ones. The Humphrey block is a three tier retail shopping center that maximizes the rentable space to a mix of tenants who all have "storefronts" whether they are on the second story or in the below grade retail level.
