648 Somerset Street gets a new look

This location has had many tenants - pizzerias especially. These photos were taken about 1 year apart - the Manitoba maple along the roofline is much bigger now.

593 Somerset Street is a florist's shop

This florist's shop is next door to Kelly Funeral home and there is another funeral home on the opposite side of the street too . . .
639 Somerset is the Mekong Restaurant

This restaurant has been in business at this location for just over 20 years. My wife and I ate here regularly when it first opened .

This low rise apartment building is more typical of apartment block buildings in areas of the city that were suburban fifty or sixty years ago. On this block it is notable for its contrasting difference from the surrounding architecture. This address is very close to the intersection of Bronson Avenue, there is an OC Transpo bus stop here too.

The brown paper sign in front of this residence states "Tai Hong Vegetable Farm", the produce for sale is on the green carpet of the steps.

The Shanghai is known as a hip eatery with good karaoke and a reputation for supporting artists and graf writers. There is an earlier version of this site seen here.
